Hi I’m Christine welcome to Essentially Cakes. I create all kinds of cake from my home kitchen in Stretford, Manchester UK. I also create sugar flowers, novelty fondant figures and cake toppers in-house.
I’ve had an interest in cakes and baking from quite an early age, having grown up in a family catering business but only started baking cakes when I had my children, making their birthday cakes.
My home now has its own small cake studio. I am mostly self-taught, but I also attend classes to make sugar flowers which is a passion I love to incorporate into my cakes.
I have been awarded a 5 star rating from Environmental Health Services and am regularly inspected. I am also fully insured and registered with the local authority.

Our cakes are baked to order and made completely from scratch so that they are always perfectly fresh and very tasty. We pride ourselves in using the finest quality ingredients in all our recipes. A wide variety of flavours and fillings are available. Each cake is covered in chocolate ganache and then fondant icing ready for decoration

Here at Essentially Cakes we create unique and stylish designs that not only look fabulous but taste delicious too. In addition, our sugar flowers and hand-made decorations are all made in-house with great attention to detail and care.

If you are looking for a completely bespoke cake, we offer a no obligation design and consultation service where we would discuss your requirements in detail, taking inspiration from your event colours, theme and venue setting to create a stunning and unique cake.
